JU Rookie Named Athlete of the Week After Top Performance

Macon, Ga. -- Jacksonville's Natasha Harvey was named Atlantic Sun Athlete of
the Week for the second time this season by the conference office.
Harvey's spectacular long jump performance at the FSU Twilight last weekend led
to the nation's best leap. The freshman from West Haven, Conn. jumped 21 feet,
5.25 inches and has garnered national attention for her efforts. She also placed
third in the 100-meter hurdles clocking in at 13.97 and fifth in the 400-meter
hurdles, with at time of 1:03.42.
Harvey's mark in the long jump leads the NCAA, is tops among world juniors, is
fourth among US women and 19th in the world. She landed a feature story and front
page spot on Trackshark.com, one of the leading sources devoted to track and
field.
The Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the
2006 outdoor track season.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb,
Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
