MACON, Ga. - USC Upstate junior Anna Novo tied a single-season school record for wins with her undefeated week, and led the Spartans to their fourth straight A-Sun win. On Friday, the conference office honored her with her first career Player of the Week.
Novo tied the USC Upstate single-season school record for wins with her 22nd of the year, a 6-2, 6-2 win over Belmont's Linda Johansson, and also posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lipscomb's Raphaela Hann and a 6-1, 6-2 win over Austin Peay's Mariana Pagan during the week. The junior also posted doubles wins with teammate Emilia Milovanovic against Austin Peay and Lipscomb.
