MACON, Ga. – USC Upstate's Julie Bell collected a singles and doubles win in her Atlantic Sun Conference debut, and with that she collected her first A-Sun Tennis Player of the Week Honors, announced Wednesday by the league office. Bell helped the Spartans down Presbyterian College in their season opener.
WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Julie Bell, USC Upstate (Jr. – Lubbock, Texas)
• First A-Sun Player of the Week award
•Defeated Greer Ransomat No. 2 singles in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4)
• Grabbed an 8-4 win over Presbyterian's Cara Caruso/Patricia Alves at doubles No. 2
• Helped the Spartans to a 5-2 victory over Presbyterian and to a first-place tie on the A-Sun Standings with ETSU
