MACON, Ga. - The first round of the Atlantic Sun Conference Women’s Soccer Championship kicks off this weekend with Mercer heading to Jacksonville and Campbell going to Stetson.

On Friday night, the Dolphins welcome the Bears to the Ashley Sports Complex for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff. Mercer claimed the regular-season title a season and advanced to the A-Sun Championship final. The Dolphins fell to Mercer in the semifinals a season ago, but this year Jacksonville gets to face the Bears on its home field where the Dolphins hold a record of 4-2-1. One of the Dolphins two home loses came at the hands of Mercer, a 1-0 decision on Oct. 2. The winner of the contest faces top seeded Kennesaw State on Thursday, Nov. 5.

Stetson and Campbell meet each other at 7:00 p.m. Saturday in Deland, Fla. with the winner advancing to the semifinals at Kennesaw State. Campbell returns to the conference championship for the first time since 2005, when the Camels made it to the A-Sun title game with victory on penalty kicks against Stetson. The Hatters fell in the first-round of the conference tournament a season ago. The Hatters host the matchup with their third-place finish in conference play. Stetson won the regular season game defeating Campbell, 2-0, at home The winner’s reward, a date with defending champion Belmont on Thursday, Nov. 5.
