Stetson’s Berg and Jacksonville’s Rooney Earn Honors

MACON, Ga. - Stetson’s Heather Berg broke a number of records with her weekend performance and earned Player of the Week honors while Jacksonville’s Alexa Ronney shut out three conference foes to earn defensive laurels, the Atlantic Sun conference announced Monday.
Berg set Stetson school records for points in a game with 10 against ETSU on Sunday. The Fort Myers, Fla. native scored four goals and had two assists in 7-0 win. Four goals set a Stetson record for goals in a game. The senior forward scored Stetson's final four goals consecutively in the senior's final regular season home game. Berg, an English major, moved up to 3rd in the A-Sun in scoring with 22 points.
Rooney played 310 minutes over the week and did not give up a single goal. The sophomore boasts a 526 minutes scoreless streak. Rooney made eight saves, including several crucial stops in Monday night’s rival game against UNF and Friday night’s thriller against Belmont. Rooney, an exercise science, also recorded two shutouts in three games, bringing her total to five on the season.

Other Top Performers
Jamie Loftis, Belmont (So. - MF - Hermitage, Tenn. - Mathematics) -- Loftis netted the game-winning goal at UNF to help Belmont win its first Atlantic Sun regular season title in program history. The Herrmitage, Tenn. native used her head to find the net on a corner kick from junior Jessica Rix to break a 0-0 stalemate in the 83rd minute in Jacksonville. The goal was her third of the season and her third game winner.
Catilin Dingle, Kennesaw State (Sr. - F - Rockdale, Ga. - English) -- Dingle scored the first goal in the Owls 2-0 win over Campbell to help them claim their 3rd regular season title. She assisted on the second goal of the game on a corner kick.
Sari Lin, Belmont (So. - GK - Carefree, Az. - Marketing) -- Lin 's impeccable play inside the net over the weekend helped the Belmont women's soccer team earn its first Atlantic Sun regular season title in program history. Against Jacksonville, the Carefree, Ariz., native went the distance in the double overtime contest, logging eight saves. Two days later in a do-or-die match at UNF, Lin grabbed one save and spent the entire 90 minutes in the net, Lin, who earned two shutouts over the strech, extended her scoreless streak to 355 minutes.
Andrea Garavaglia, Stetson (Jr. - GK - Webster Groves, Mo. - Psychlogy) -- Registered her 7th shutout of the season. The junior allowed just one goal in two conference games over the weekend to lead the Hatters to a pair of wins and into the A-Sun tournament as the No. 3 seed. She improved to 10-6-2 on the season. The psychology major led the Hatters to a 10-win season for the fourth time in program's history.
Amber McCall , FGCU (So. - M - Fort Myers, Fla. - Criminal Justice) -- McCall led the Eagles last week, collecting four goals and one assist as the Eagles topped ETSU and USC Upstate. McCall was involved in all three goals the Eagles scored against ETSU. She earned her third assist of the season to put FGCU up 1-0. McCall then added two goals of her own to lead the Eagles to a 3-0 victory. Against USC Upstate on senior day, McCall netted two second half goals to lead the Eagles to their 11 win of the season. McCall’s ten goals on the season place her tied for first in the A-Sun.
