Shelton herds saves for the Lady Bisons

Shelton stopped 13 shots Sunday afternoon as the Lady Bisons battled UNF to a 0-0 tie. The Hendersonville, Tenn., native earned her fourth shutout of the season. On the weekend, the senior health and physical education major had 18 saves, a 1.35 goals against average and played 200 minutes. She also made five saves in a 3-0 loss Friday night to Jacksonville. Shelton extended her A-Sun career saves to 560. She broke the record of Stetson’s Genevieve Roy’s 528 from 1997-2000 on Oct. 17 against FGCU.
Monty helped ETSU clinch its fourth straight A-Sun tournament berth with her game winning goals against Stetson on Friday and FGCU two days later. Against the Hatters, the junior sports management major found the back of the net early in the first half, allowing the Bucs to hold on to the 1-0 victory. After ETSU and FGCU battled into double overtime on Sunday, the Mesquite, Texas, native fired home the game-winner with less then three minutes off the clock into the final overtime period.

Megan Masch, ETSU (GK - Virginia Beach, Va. - Freshman - Honors Biology and Business) - Masch has 83 saves on the year after stopping 10 shots during the weekend. Masch picked up her sixth and seventh wins of the season, as ETSU went 2-0 in conference play, defeating Stetson and A-Sun foe FGCU. For the weekend Masch allowed only two goals in over 193 minutes in goal.
Annie Musacchio, Belmont (F/MF - Nashville, Tenn. - Junior - Accounting) - She netted three goals over the weekend, helping Belmont women's soccer secure only its second ever berth to the Atlantic Sun Tournament. Against UNF, scored two goals en route to Belmont 4-0 victory. It was the first time Belmont had ever scored four goals against an A-Sun opponent and won. Two days later against Jacksonville, Musacchio scored the first goal in Belmont's come from behind win. Musacchio now leads the team in goals with seven and points with 16.
Jelena Vrcelj, Jacksonville (F - Jacksonville, Fla. - Sophomore - Education) - scored three goals in two games over the weekend; added her second career multi-goal game with two scores in the 3-0 win against Lipscomb; scored a goal that put JU ahead of Belmont on Sunday to finish the weekend; now second on the team with a career-best eight goals.
