Eagles, Bucs battle in the Game of the Week
|

MACON, Ga. - After two straight road matches, ETSU women's soccer returns home to play its final league contests this weekend. The Bucs host the FGCU Eagles in the A-Sun game of the week against ETSU. The action can be seen on A-SunTV.com
Coming into this weekend, the Eagles are tied with Stetson and Jacksonville for fourth in the A-Sun with a 3-1-3 conference record, trailing Belmont by just one point. The Eagles own the best overall winning percentage in the A-Sun, .679 pct.
FGCU enters this weekend having outscored its opponents 25 to 11, and have outshot opponents 187 to 131. They have held their opponents to less than one goal a game (.75), while FGCU averages just fewer than two goals a game (1.70). The Eagles are currently on a two game unbeaten streak, with a tie against Lipscomb, and a 1-0 win over Belmont last weekend.
The Bucs (5-8-1, A-Sun 3-4-1) look to bounce back after dropping two tough road matches last weekend. ETSU lost a heartbreaking 2-1, overtime contest to Kennesaw State, before falling short against league-leading Mercer 1-0 on Sunday.
The Bucs could help their chance of earning a spot in the 2008 A-Sun tournament with wins this weekend. Currently, ETSU sits in seventh-place, however due to FGCU being ineligible for postseason play the Bucs would qualify for the six-team bracket.
