KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State women's soccer team continues to rack up the accolades as Maylee Attin-Johnson was named to the Soccer Buzz Magazine Elite Team of the Week, while the squad as a whole was honored in the NSCAA Poll as released by the organizations late Tuesday evening.

Attin-Johnson was selected as one of 18 players to make the list this week out of a total of 5,000 eligible players around the country. She joins Nancy Haskell (Davidson), Jill Hutchinson (Wake Forest) and Rachel Lopez (LSU) as the only players honored from the Southeast Region.

The Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago native heavily contributed to the pair of the Owls' 1-0 wins over UAB and Elon last week. Against the Blazers, she scored the only goal of the match off a free kick and then assisted on Caitlin Dingle's goal to down the Phoenix last Sunday afternoon.

After winning its fifth straight match, the Kennesaw State women's soccer team has once again been honored by Soccer Buzz Magazine as the Owls appear in this week's Southeast Region poll.

Consecutive wins over Alabama, Jacksonville State, Wofford, UAB and Elon have allowed KSU (5-2) to receive votes in this week's poll. The honor is the first for the Owls since they were ranked No. 12 on October 17, 2006.

After falling in its first two matches to Mississippi State and Samford, KSU has rattled off the five straight victories behind strong play from forwards Caitlin Dingle and Annie Phillips, as well as solid goalkeeping by freshman Katie Piotrowski.

The two Owls strikers have combined for seven goals and two assists, while Piotrowski has recorded three straight shutouts and was rewarded with the Atlantic Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor this week.
