BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Redshirt-junior Lindsey Gladhill continued her torrid scoring streak, netting all three Gardner-Webb goals Sunday afternoon, helping the Bulldogs knock off SEC foe Mississippi State 3-2 in the A-Sun Match of the Week. Gardner-Webb remains unbeaten at 4-0 while MSU stands at 0-4 with the loss.
“Coach Mounce put in the system and the team came into the match and executed well,” associate head coach Rob Berkowitz said. “The players knew what needed to be done and they came in and did it.”
It didn’t take long for the Bulldogs to jump on the scoreboard. In the third minute of play, sophomore Angie Harvey played the ball to junior Brittany Woods. Woods then one-timed it to Gladhill, who cut in behind the defense as the pass left Woods’ feet. Gladhill went bottom left, just past a diving Stephanie Dallas in goal, for a 1-0 lead.
