Stetson's Hurme Secures #ASunWSoc Scholar-Athlete Honors

MACON, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference honored Stetson's Danielle Hurme as the 2013 Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year to highlight the league’s Academic All-Conference team.

Hurme led the Hatters to a 4-4-1 conference record to secure their first A-Sun Championship appearance since the 2010 season. Stetson heads into the A-Sun Championship as the No. 5 seed after being predicted to finish ninth in the preseason poll.

Hurme registered two goals and an assist this season as a defender. She owns a 4.00 cumulative GPA as an Accounting major.

The A-Sun introduced the new sport-by-sport Academic All-Conference teams in the 2011-12 academic year to recognize student-athletes who embody the conference’s mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or better and participated in at least half of their team’s games.
