Monday, October 24, 2011 MACON, Ga. – ETSU’s Ramey Kerns and Belmont’s Nicole Berner played integral parts in their teams’ success this week as Kerns scored the deciding goal in 2-1 win against Mercer to give ETSU a share of the Atlantic Sun Conference regular season title for the first time in school history, while Berner held Stetson and regular season co-champion FGCU scoreless to give the Bruins an undefeated week and earn a first round home game. PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ramey Kerns, ETSU (So. – Forward – Kings Mountain, N.C. – Exercise Science) • First Career Player of the Week award • Scored the game-winning goal against Mercer on Sunday • Her goal gave the Bucs a share of a conference title for the first time in school history • Two game-winning goals this season OTHER NOMINEES: • Katrina Frost (Fr., Kennesaw State) – Scored a goal and added an assist in two games over the weekend • Olivia Elias (Sr., FGCU) – Registered game-winning goal against Lipscomb • Spencer Laufer (Jr., Belmont) – Scored game-winning goal against FGCU, first goal scored against FGCU in Atlantic Sun play in 2011 • Kaitlyn Bassett (Fr., Jacksonville) – Scored opening goal in 2-1 victory over cross-town rival UNF, helping Jacksonville clinch a share of the A-Sun regular season championship • Olivia Tucker (Sr., Mercer) – Netted team-leading ninth goal in regular season finale against ETSU DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Nicole Berner, Belmont (So. – Goalkeeper – Randolph, N.J. – Business Administration) • First Career Player of the Week award • Allowed no goals over 130 minutes of play on the week, while stopping eight shots • Recorded 1-0 shutout of FGCU on Sunday • Shutout high-powered FGCU offense that came into Sunday’s game averaging 2.75 goals per game OTHER NOMINEES: • Grace Turner (Sr., Stetson) – Saved seven shots over two matches on the weekend
