Campbell's Cisneros Tabbed A-Sun Golfer of the Month

MACON, Ga. – Campbell’s Belen Diaz Cisneros took home Atlantic Sun Golfer of the Month honors after leading the Camels to three tournament titles in October.
The freshman standout captured her first collegiate individual title at the Richmond Spider Fall Invitational, shooting a two-round total of 151 to claim medalist honors. Cisneros added a ninth place showing at the Shoot-out at the Legends and has yet to finish outside the top-20 in an event yet this season. The Buenos Aires, Argentina, native is ranked among the top-12 freshmen nationally and landed 75th overall in the latest Golfstat Cup listing.
Campbell posted school record low rounds twice in October as a team, carding a 287 at the Shoot-out at the Legends in the month’s first tourney before closing out with a single round score of 286 at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate. The team total of 877 at the Shoot-out at the Legends, the Camels fired an 877 to establish the program’s 54-hole scoring record. After claiming three tournament titles in addition to one runner-up showing, Campbell is ranked 32nd by both Golfweek and Golfstat.

The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.
