Mercer Harris Earns February Golfer of the Month
Date Posted: 3/7/2006 Macon, Ga. – Mercer’s Ashley Harris received the first A-Sun Golfer of the Month award for the spring season.Harris helped Mercer to an eighth place finish at the UCF Invitational, outlasting a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference foes. The senior fired a one-under par 71 to lead after the first round of the event. The day ended just one stroke shy of matching her best career round. Harris would eventually finish tied for 11th, the best showing by an A-Sun golfer at the event. The Soddy Daisy, Tenn., native is majoring in Sports Management. The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out Golfer of the Month awards during the first full week of every month during the 2005-06 campaign. The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.  |
