Macon, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference named Belmont’s Lorrie Warren October Golfer of the Month.
Warren set school records for 18-hole and 36-hole score at the Great Smokies Intercollegiate and led Belmont to four top-10 finishes in October including a fourth place showing at the Troy Women’s Invitational. Individually, the freshman placed in the top-20 in each event, highlighted by a 5th place finish at the ASU Lady Indians Classic. The Hendersonville, Tenn., native becomes the first Belmont women’s golfer to capture the monthly award.
The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out Golfer of the Month awards on the first Thursday of every month during the 2005-06 campaign.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
