Evans Nets Final Weekly Award for 2009

MACON, Ga. - ETSU junior swing Siarre Evans powered the Lady Bucs to a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference victories in the past week, helping ETSU continue its efforts for a second consecutive A-Sun title. On Monday, the conference office named her Player of the Week for the second time this season, fourth time in her career.
Evans, the Atlantic Sun's leading scorer (16.7) and rebounder (10.3), began the week with a career night at USC Upstate on Monday. The junior preseason all-conference selection put her ETSU team on her back and rallying the Lady Bucs to a 90-84 win, and finishing with a career-high 35 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Evans shot 11-for-21, including 6-of-11 from beyond the arc (setting a new career best) and dished out five assists and forced two steals as well. Then, on Thursday night against Kennesaw State, Evans recorded her sixth straight double-double (16th of the season) after posting a game high 26 points and 12 rebounds, while dishing out three assists and forcing a career-tying six steals in the 73-66 win against the Owls. The Griffin, Ga. native finished the regular season with a 15-point, eight-rebound performance in the 90-79 loss to Mercer on Saturday afternoon.

Jessica Bobbitt, Belmont (F - Trenton, Tenn. - Sr. - Accounting) -- Bobbitt averaged a double-double in the last two regular season games. Against UNF, the Trenton, Tenn., native netted 10 points and pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds. Two days later against Jacksonville, she drained a game-high 18 points and notched a game-high 15 boards
Dominique Chism, Mercer (F - Dallas, Texas - Sr. - Education) -- Chism finished the week with an impressive 21.5 ppg average, 9.0 rpg, a .517 field goal percentage and a .929 mark from the free throw line
Chelsea Lyles, FGCU (F - Colorado Springs, Colo. - Jr. - Communications) -- For the week, Lyles averaged 13.5 points per game with a 53.3 shooting percentage from the field and converting 90 percent of her free throws. Lyles also grabbed six rebounds per game and averaged two assists per contest.
