Battle of the Boulevard Resumes in CSS Game of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Lipscomb and Belmont renew the Battle of the Boulevard Tuesday night inside Lipscomb's Allen Arena in a special edition of the CSS Game of the Week. The game returns to Lipscomb's campus for the first time since the two teams met in the first round of the 2008 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship with the host Lady Bisons taking a thrilling 73-72 victory from the 2007 A-Sun champions.

In the NCAA Era, Lipscomb is only 4-12 against its cross-town rival, but the Lady Bisons have turned the tide in the rivalry of late with three consecutive wins. The last two meetings at Belmont’s Curb Event Center have gone to the Lady Bisons, and Lipscomb ended Belmont reign as Atlantic Sun Conference champion with a thrilling 73-72 quarterfinal victory over the Bruins at the 2008 A-Sun Championship.

Sophomore guard Jenna Bartsokas leads the Lady Bisons against Belmont, averaging almost 12 points a game, while Cree Nix works the glass, averaging a fourth-in-the-A-Sun 7.4 rebounds per contest.

Belmont counters with the scoring duo of junior guard Amber Rockwell and senior post Jessica Bobbitt. Rockwell (14.4 points per game) and Bobbit (13 ppg) rank fourth and seventh in the league in scoring, respectively.

George Plaster and Robin Muller have the call for CSS with a tip-time of 7:00pm ET. Fans outside of the CSS coverage area can catch the action on the Atlantic Sun's broadband channel ASun.TV.
