Clark and the Williamses Share Player of the Week Award

Despite a 1-1 week, Clark's numbers could not be denied as she shot 79 percent from the field (15-of-19) and 85 percent from the charity stripe (13-of-17), averaging 22 points per game and pulling down 13 boards per game.
In a losing effort to UNF, Clark had 11 points and 14 rebounds. Against JU and Williams, she erupted for 33 points and 12 rebounds. She has 15 double-doubles on the season and was mentioned in USA Today as a rookie making an impact on her team. Clark has earned Player of the Week five times in what is only her rookie campaign. Patechia Hartman (Georgia State) earned the award 6 times in one season.
Vying for the top spot along with Belmont, Shontavia Williams is keeping Florida Atlantic's hopes alive after leading the Owls to a 2-0 week. She recorded her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds to help the lift the Owls back into first place in the conference with a 70-64 victory over Gardner-Webb. Williams was a perfect 7-of-7 at the free throw line to help preserve the win down the stretch. She also added two assists and one block in the game. It marked her 21st double-digit scoring performance of the season.
Williams followed up her double-double effort by scoring a season-high 26 points and raked in six rebounds in her final game at FAU Arena as the Owls beat the Camels 74-58 on Senior Night. The spectacular senior capped off her amazing career at the “Burrow” by shooting 12-of-16 from the floor, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. The Miami native also added two more helpers and one steal in the game. For the week Williams scored 41 points and recorded 16 rebounds to average 20.5 points per game to go along with eight boards per game.
Ashley Williams, whose team also had a 1-1 week, is working hard to help Jacksonville secure a favorable spot in the 2006 A-Sun Tournament. In a win against Lipscomb, she scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds. Against Belmont, she scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. For the week, she averaged 22.5 ppg, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks.
The final Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week will be announced every Monday, Mar. 6.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
Other Top Performers
B.J. Banjo, ETSU (Sr. - G - Baltimore, Md. - Public Health) -- Banjo averaged 23.5 points in the two win week, breaking the 20-point plateau for the 12th, and 13th times this season. She netted a game-high 26 points in the win over Stetson, including a 4-for-7 performance from behind the arc.
Dominika Mieszkowska, KSU (Sr. - G - Gdansk, Poland - International Affairs) -- Mieszkowska averaged 18.0 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Began the week with a 20-point effort against Stetson then added 16 points on Senior Day. For the week she shot 48 percent and was 9-for-11 from the foul line.
