Stetson Names Bria New Women's Basketball Coach

DeLand, Fla. - Stetson Athletics Director Jeff Altier announced that the Hatters have a new head women's basketball coach. Lynn Bria has accepted the position and will begin her duties on May 19.
Bria has over 18 years of women's basketball coaching experience including 10 years as a Division I head coach. She comes to DeLand from Coral Gables where she was an assistant on the University of Miami staff last season. During the 2006-2007 season she was an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator at West Virginia in Morgantown.
Bria was the head coach at Ohio University from 1999-2006, at the University of Central Florida from 1996-1999, and held the top spot at Texas Women's University in Denton. She has also held assistant coaching positions at Radford University and Marshall University.
Bria has family, including her parents that live just down the road in Port Orange.
Bria is a 1990 graduate of the University of Charleston in West Virginia where she earned a B.A. in Health and Physical Education. She earned a Masters of Arts in Physical Education from Marshall University in 1992.
