MACON, Ga. - Jacksonville junior Virginia Gregoire and Jacksonville continued the best season in school history last week, splitting a pair of A-Sun games and securing the second seed in next month's conference tournament; the highest postseason seed in Dolphins history. Gregoire averaged better than 20 points and seven rebounds, and topped 1,000 points for her career on the week. On Tuesday, the conference office honored her with her second Player of the Week Award of the season.

Gregoire poured it on for the Dolphins over the weekend as JU solidified its postseason position. For the weekend, she averaged 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists and 2.5 steals while shooting .621 (18-29) from the field and .857 (6-7) from beyond the arc. Against Kennesaw State, she became the fifth Dolphins to reach 1,000 career points by dropping a season-high 24 against the Owls. Gregoire shot 10-of-16 from the field, 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and also tallied nine rebounds, six assists and three steals. Against Mercer, she led the squad against with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor (3-of-3 from beyond the arc) while also tallying five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Other Top Performers:

Taronda Wiles, ETSU (So. – Griffin, Ga. – Sport Management) – Sophomore averaged 14 points and six rebounds as the Lady Bucs clinched the top seed in the conference tournament.

Shennette Sheffield, UNF (So. – Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Criminal Justice) – Averaged 15 points and 7.3 rebounds a game, while accounting for nearly 30 percent of the Lady Ospreys’ offensive production.

Courtney Hawkins, USC Upstate (So. – Greer, S.C. – Business Administration) – Scored a conference season-high 35 points versus Campbell Monday night.
