Laura Povilonyte's career night against UNC-Asheville helped snap a six-game losing streak.

MACON, Ga. – Returning from injury last week, Gardner-Webb sophomore Laura Povilonyte posted consecutive double-doubles; her second one helping the Bulldogs snap a six-game losing skid Monday night against UNC-Asheville. Her weekly averages of 17 points and 12.5 rebounds per game earned her the first Player of the Week award of her career the conference office announced Tuesday.
The Lithuania native came off the bench to tally 15 points and 10 boards in a loss against Longwood earlier in the week. The international business major returned to the starting line-up and had career highs with 19 points and 15 rebounds in the win over UNC-Asheville. Povilonyte grabbed 13 defensive boards in the victory over the Bulldogs; third most for a GWU student-athlete in the school's history.
