A-Sun Notables

1,000 POINT CLUB
Stetson's Janene Maclin and Belmont's Alysha Clark recently became the newest members of the 1,000-point club. Maclin, a senior, collected her 1,000th career point in a 17-point effort against Gardner-Webb. In only her second season, Clark became the first player in Belmont history to reach the 1,000 career points in only 52 games. She scored a game-high 20 points -- exactly the number she needed -- against crosstown foe Lipscomb in the regionally televised Battle of the Boulevard on CSS. She is in a six-way tie in 38th place on the national fastest to 1,000 list, surpassing WNBA players like Chamique Holdsclaw and Tamika Catchings. Maclin and Clark join Gardner-Webb's Shameka Smith, who is the third active A-Sun player with 1,000 career points.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
Ferociously defending its turf, Belmont has won 21 consecutive home games, giving it the third best home court win streak in the nation. The Bruins put their streak on the line Thursday and Saturday when they host Campbell and Gardner-Webb.

300 AND COUNTING
Gardner-Webb head coach Rick Reeves reached a coaching milestone when he picked up his 300th victory over the weekend when the Bulldogs took a 61-47 victory over the Hatters. He grabbed another win against Mercer, sending his career record to 301-287.

DANCIN' IN DOTHAN
For the fourth consecutive year, the Atlantic Sun women’s basketball champion will be crowned in Dothan, Alabama. The City of Dothan and the Dothan Civic Center will serve as host for one of the league’s premier events. The women's tournament will take place March 8-10.
