A-Sun Game of the Week
Saturday, February 17
Lipscomb at Belmont
Curb Event Center
Nashville, Tenn.
7:00 pm CT (on CSS)
Belmont looks to return to its winning ways when Alysha Clark rejoins to the lineup in one of the league’s biggest rivalries. Lipscomb has been slowly but surely climbing the standings and is tied for fourth place. The Battle of Boulevard will be live on CSS for the entire Southeast to witness.
A-Sun Notables
SURPRISE, SURPRISE!
Ten games deep into conference play, Mercer makes a turnaround in a major way.
The Bears upended Stetson at Edmunds Center on CSS, then defeat top-ranked Belmont
and Lipscomb on their home turf. Belmont was without starters Alysha Clark and
Shaunda Strayhorn. At 3-9, Mercer has now climbed out of last place, leapfrogging
Campbell.
ON A ROLL
With a victory over UNF on Feb. 10, the Dolphins set a new program record with
14 wins – surpassing previous mark of 13-15 in 2000-01. At 8-4 in the A-Sun,
JU is two wins shy of setting program record for conference wins in a season,
surpassing the previous mark of 9-9 in 2000-01.
DANCIN' IN DOTHAN
For the fourth consecutive year, the Atlantic Sun women’s basketball champion
will be crowned in Dothan, Alabama. The City of Dothan and the Dothan Civic
Center will serve as host for one of the league’s premier events. The women's
tournament will take place March 8-10.
