Macon, Ga. – Making a late season surge, Mercer had a 2-0 week courtesy of TaShera Lewis. She was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week today by the conference office. Against Belmont and Lipscomb, Lewis averaged 16 points and 5.5 rebounds.

Handing the top team in the league its first A-Sun loss of the season, Mercer was able to capitalize on its home court advantage, and the absence of Belmont starters Shaunda Strayhorn and Alysha Clark. Lewis poured in 17 points, four rebounds and three assists in the Bears' 69-65 victory.

Against Stetson, the sophomore forward scored 15 points and pulled down five boards as Mercer cruised to a 58-49 win over Lipscomb. The Bears are now 4-19 overall and 3-9 in conference play.

This marks the first Player of the Week award for Lewis. A native of Eastman, Ga., Lewis is majoring in Biology.

Amber Rockwell, BEL (Fr. - G - Tuscaloosa, Ala. - Exercise Science) -- Rockwell scored a career-high 20 points in Belmont's losing effort at Mercer, hitting 6-of-13 shots from the floor.

Michele DeVault , ETSU (Jr. - G/F - Columbus, Ohio - Education) -- DeVault averaged 17.5 ppg and 4.0 rpg in the two Lady Buc wins over Gardner-Webb and Campbell.

Shameka Smith, GWU (Sr. - F - Bessemer City, N.C. - Psychology) -- Smith tallied 35 points and 21 rebounds and had three steals in two games.

Regina Omoite , JU (So. - G - Miami, Fla. - Accounting) -- Omoite was instrumental in leading the Dolphins to a program-best 14 wins and finished the week with a career-high 19 points, including a career-best 5-of-11from beyond the arc.

Jennifer Baker, KSU (So. - G - Soperton, Ga. - Chemistry) -- Baker scored a career-high 23-points in the Lady win over Gardner-Webb. Also had 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.

Rachel Davis , LIP (So. - F - Hendersonville, Tenn. - Marketing) -- Davis scored a career-high and team-high 15 points in 58-49 loss at Mercer and 10 points in 59-57 win at Stetson.
