MACON, Ga. - It took until the results of the final conference games were in, but the seeds and schedules are finally set for the 2009 General Shale Brick Atlantic Sun Championships that start Wednesday from Lipscomb's Allen Arena.

In the men's draw, Jacksonville earned the top seed for the first time in school history with a win at Belmont; the Bruins ended up with the third spot. ETSU's 103-81 victory against Mercer pushed the Buccaneers into the second seed. The host Bisons continued their winning streak, as they pushed it to eight against UNF and locked up the fourth seed. Campbell, by virtue of its win on Friday night against Stetson and Mercer's loss, will take on Lipscomb. The Bears fell to sixth with the Hatters seventh.

For the second year in a row, ETSU and Jacksonville claimed the top two spots in the women's field. Belmont locked up the third seed by virtue of defeating Jacksonville and owning the tiebreaker advantage against Mercer, both finished with 12-8 records. Mercer, who improved from 1-15 in league play to the aforementioned 12-8, faces Stetson. Campbell secured the sixth seed with its defeat of Stetson and pushed Lipscomb into the seventh position.

The Championship kicks off at 6:00 p.m. CT with a women's first-round game when Jacksonville faces the host Lipscomb, followed by ETSU and Stetson in a men's first-round game. Both games air on CSS. The network will broadcast a total of nine games during the week. For those unable to attend in person and outside of CSS markets, ASun.TV will carry every game of the Championship, other than the men's title game.
