Macon, Ga. – Carrying ETSU to its 16th consecutive win this season, Nani Emerson
was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week Monday by the conference office. Emerson
averaged 15.40 assists per game in the Lady Bucs' lone victory over Liberty
last week.
The senior setter dished out a career-high 77 assists in five games. Emerson
also picked up eight digs, two blocks and a kill. The Tracy, Calif. native was
just two assists short of the conference mark of 79 in a single match. For the
season, the biology major ranks second in the conference in assists and assists
per game.
This award marks the second time Emerson has earned Player of the Week this
season. She and the Lady Bucs earned the regular season crown after going undefeated
in league play and will be the top-seed at the 2006 A-Sun Volleyball Tournament
this week.
The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida
and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.

a school record with 64 assists in the 3-1 win over UNC Asheville in the only
match of the week. She also added 14 digs.
Julie Darty, MER
(Jr. - RS - Orlando, Fla. - Communications)-- Darty paced the Bears against
Savannah State, tallying 12 kills, 17 attempts, .647 percentage, 13 assists,
3 service aces, 3 digs, 3 block assists.
Maegan Weisert, UNF
(Jr. - OH - Virginia Beach, Va. - Public Relations) -- Weisert hit
.280 in two matches with 37 kills 36 total digs.
