The Camels have tied their most overall wins since 2001 with at least four
more matches remaining. Campbell recorded 17 aces in back-to-back matches, the
most in consecutive matches in school history. Freshman Ashley Weers is projected
to be in the top 10 in the nation in service aces when the NCAA rankings come
out on Tuesday and the Camels are projected to be in the top 5 in the nation
as a team in service aces with 2.41 per game….Campbell steps out of conference
on Tuesday traveling to High Point before hosting Gardner-Webb on Saturday with
A-Sun Tournament spots on the line. CU has outhit their opponents in 12 of its
last 15 matches
The Bulldogs fell to North Florida and Jacksonville in the two matches they
had last week by scores of 3-0 and 3-1. Regina Feagin and Audra Harrison each
tallied double-doubles in the loss to North Florida and Ashley Pridgeon accounted
for a match-high 15 kills. Harrison again notched a double-double on Saturday
versus Jacksonville and provided a match-best 23 kills. Feagin dished out a
match-high 59 assists and one was dig away from a double-double. The Bulldogs
travel to Campbell on Saturday, Nov. 4 in their A-Sun finale in a 2 p.m. contest.
The Lady Bisons enjoyed a weekend off after beating Tennessee-Chattanooga 3-2
last Tuesday night at Allen Arena. The Lady Bisons played Tennessee State University
at Allen Arena Halloween night and then finish up the A-Sun regular season with
visits from Jacksonville and North Florida on Friday and Saturday.
The Bears went 2-1 on the week, sweeping UNC Wilmington and Kennesaw State
and falling to ETSU. Sophomore Karen Dorris notched her seventh double-double
of the season in the match against UNCW with 13 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore
setter Kelly Jansen passed the 1,500 mark in career digs with her 40-assist
performance against Kennesaw State. Her current total is 1,559. The Bears face
non-conference rival Florida A&M Tuesday night and wrap up conference play as
they travel to Stetson Saturday to face the Hatters.
