Macon, Ga. – Helping ETSU to its first Atlantic Sun regular season title, Jennifer
Sartor was named A-Sun Player of the Week by the conference office Monday. Sartor
averaged 5.57 kills and 3.29 digs in seven games last week.
Sartor accumulated 39 kills in two matches last week, leading the Lady Bucs
to a perfect conference season, their first-ever conference title and 13th consecutive
win. The senior opened the week with a career high 24 kills in just four games
against Stetson Friday night, and then led the team with 15 kills in ETSU’s
conference clinching sweep of Mercer Sunday afternoon.
In addition to her kill totals, the Toronto, Ontario native also amassed double-digit
digs in both matches, notching her fourth double-double in as many matches,
as well as her sixth in her last seven outings.
In addition, Sartor also led the Lady Bucs with eight total blocks in the
two matches. On the season, the sport management science major leads the Atlantic
Sun with four digs per game, and ranks seventh with a .304 hitting percentage.
The Lady Bucs will assume the top seed going into the 2006 A-Sun Volleyball
Tournament hosted by Belmont Nov. 17-18.
The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida
and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.

Ashley Collier, BEL
(So. - L - Huntington Beach, Calif. - Nursing) -- In two matches Collier tallied
35 digs, three assists and an ace.
Rachel Templin, CAM
(Sr. - MB - Andersonville, Tenn. - Exercise Science) -- Templin recorded
40 kills in three matches, hitting .348.
Melissa Merchant,
JU (Jr. - MB - Oakley, Calif. - Political Science) -- Merchant had a
season-high 23 kills in leading JU's comeback for a 3-2 win over Campbell, with
six coming in the fifth game. She followed that up with 14 kills and four blocks
in JU's 3-1 win over GWU.
Julie Darty, MER
(Jr. - RS - Orlando, Fla. - Communications)-- Darty led the Bears for the week,
hitting .365 percent. She also racked up 11 block assists and five service aces.
Gina Iacona, STET
(Jr. - MB - Boca Raton, Fla. - American Studies) -- Iacona hit .308
and collected 25 kills against Kennesaw State and ETSU.
