Macon, Ga. – Helping snap Jacksonville's six-game losing skid, Sara Bendorf
was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week by the conference office. Bendorf's weekly performance led
to three victories for the Dolphins. She posted 50 kills and a .317 hitting
percentage in 10 games.
The sophomore outside hitter had 14 kills and two blocks in a sweep of Savannah
State, picked up 12 kills, five digs and two blocks against Charleston Southern
in a 3-0 victory and wrapped up the week with 24 kills and 16 digs in a 3-1
win over Coastal Carolina.
Bendorf has five double-doubles on the season and ranks seventh in the league
in kills. She is a native of Buckley, Wash., majoring in accounting.
The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week every Monday during
the 2006 volleyball campaign.
The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida
and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.

for the week, dishing out 55 against Furman and 49 against Eastern Kentucky.

a double-double for the weekend, with 22 kills and 29 digs total.
