Bears’ Harris Swipes Player of the Week Honor

MACON, Ga. – Riding a four-game conference win streak, Mercer’s Charlotte Harris earned the Atlantic Sun Conference Volleyball Player of the Week award for the first time in her career, announced Monday by the league office. Harris, a junior libero, came one dig away from tying the conference record for digs in a four-set match as she amassed 39 digs in a 3-1 win against Stetson.  

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Charlotte Harris, Mercer (Libero – Jr. – Chapel Hill, N.C. – Psychology)
• First-time A-Sun Player of the Week winner
• Amassed 39 digs against Stetson, one away from A-Sun record for digs in a four-set match
• Helped the Bears to another undefeated week and extended conference win streak to four
• Added seven assists and three service aces in two games

OTHER NOMINEES:
• Alex Kelly (MB, Lipscomb) – totaled 16 kills and eight digs in a 2-0 week for the Lady Bisons
• Lauren Baufield (RS, ETSU) – posted a double-double against Jacksonville; 14 kills and 17 digs
• Holly Knight (OH, Kennesaw State) – registered 18 kills and 10 blocks in two wins for the Owls
• Kayla Albritton (OH, Belmont) – racked up 20 kills and 15 digs in win against Campbell
