MACON, Ga. – UNF seniors Amy Higgs and Katie Brosky ended their careers on a high note after claiming the final Player and Pitcher of the Week honors distributed by the Atlantic Sun Conference in the 2007 season.

Higgs closed out her career at UNF by hitting .444 on the week with a 1.444 slugging percentage. The Palm Beach, Fla., native had three triples in four games, tying a UNF record with two triples in a game at Florida State. The senior also tripled and homered in the opener of a doubleheader against Stetson. Higgs’ home run was her only as a Lady Osprey. The outfielder finished with one RBI and scored three runs while not committing an error in the field. Higgs is majoring in Sports Leadership.

Brosky went 1-1 on the week with a 2.69 ERA. The senior held opposing hitters to a .178 batting average and struck out 11. After allowing only five hits to Florida State, Brosky closed out her UNF career with a 1-0 shutout of top-seeded Stetson. The Palatka, Fla., native tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts in that game and only allowed three hits, two of which were infield hits. Brosky majors in Political Science.
