MACON, Ga. Kennesaw States Keri McKee and UNFs Devyn Findley garnered Atlantic Sun Conference weekly softball honors after dominating performances in tournament play last weekend.
Findley claimed Pitcher of the Week accolades on the heels of hurling her first collegiate no-hitter. The Gainesville, Fla., native tossed 5.0 unscathed innings as the Ospreys run-ruled Mount Saint Marys 12-0. Earlier in the week, Findley tossed the first of her two shutouts, blanking preseason Southern Conference favorite Georgia Southern. For the week, the freshman southpaw allowed only one run in a relief appearance versus Temple and did not surrender an extra-base hit in 15.0 innings of work. Findley majors in Nursing.
McKee had a great week for the Owls, posting a .480 batting average in eight games. In a mid-week doubleheader at Tennessee Tech, the senior first baseman went 2-for-5 with a double and a homerun. Then over the weekend, the senior hit yet another homer against South Alabama and hit .526 over six games as she led the Owls to the championship title in the Panther Spring Classic hosted by Birmingham Southern, earning All-Tournament Team honors. The Buford, Ga. native hit safely in all eight games and still has yet to commit an error all season. McKee majors in Sociology.
