BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell University's athletic department recently announced the hiring of Andrew B. Carter as the school's head strength and conditioning coach. Carter replaces David Johnston, who left the school to pursue other opportunities.
"We are very happy to have Andrew join the Campbell family," athletic director Stan Williamson commented. "Andrew brings a good mix of educational and athletics experience as well as being a solid person who will be successful here at Campbell."
Carter enters his first season as the head strength and conditioning coach at Campbell, where he will work closely with all 20 athletic programs. He comes to the school after spending the last three years as the head strength and conditioning coach at St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Va. In addition to his strength and conditioning duties, Carter also worked as a physical education teacher and the physical education department coordinator with additional duties as the assistant boy’s lacrosse coach for the last three years.
Carter also has a background as the head strength and conditioning coach for the U.S. Women’s National Lacrosse Team (2006-08), the assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Delaware (2003-05), volunteer assistant strength coach at Notre Dame (2004) and the head strength and conditioning coach for the Cecil Community College’s basketball team (2004-05).
