JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University head coach Jill Dunn put the finishing touches on her coaching staff with the hiring of Ginny Boggess as her assistant women's basketball coach.
Boggess comes to JU after two seasons as an assistant coach at Hofstra. She assisted in all aspects of the program, working with the Pride guards and serving as the recruiting coordinator. She replaces Andrea Williams, who accepted a similar position at USF on Aug. 11 after helping the Dolphins to their most successful season in program history.
With the Pride, Boggess helped lead the squad to the Colonia Athletic Association tournament each season, including a school-best 26-8 overall record and a spot in the WNIT Quarterfinals in 2006-07. Under her guidance, senior guard Cigi McCollin (second team) and freshman guard Sam Brigham (rookie team) earned conference honors that season.
"Ginny is an excellent addition to our staff," said Dunn. "I am excited to be getting someone of her caliber. She has tremendous work ethic and an outgoing personality that will be an automatic fit with our student-athletes and administration. We are extremely fortunate to add her to the JU family."
