JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - JU women's basketball head coach Jill Dunn made one final tweak to her coaching staff by naming her longest tenured assistant, Dee Pennix, associate head coach.
Pennix, who joined Dunn's staff in 2005, has been instrumental in building the program into an Atlantic Sun Conference power by assisting in recruiting while also working with the development of Dolphin post players. Also included in her tutelage was the molding of three-time all-conference selection and all-time scoring leader Ashley Williams.
"Dee is very deserving of this promotion," said Dunn. "She has been extremely loyal to me, our women's basketball program and Jacksonville University. Her hard work and determination has been a vital part of our success the past two years. This title represents just a small part of my appreciation for all that she has done to help build our program into an A-Sun contender. Dee's commitment and work ethic exemplifies the standard of coaching we want for our student-athletes."
