After a short stint as an intern for marketing and tickets at JU, Brian Freshley will begin his first year as the graduate assistant for special projects.

Among his duties at JU, Freshley will be responsible for special projects as assigned by the director of athletics as well as assisting in Atlantic Sun Conference liaison duties, different marketing initiatives, ticketing and game-day promotions.

"Brian is an up-and-coming star in this business and a welcome addition to our staff," said JU director of athletics Alan Verlander. "He did such a great job for us as an intern last year and we try to retain the best."

Freshley began his first stint at JU as a marketing and tickets intern during the winter and spring of 2008. Prior to JU, he was a ticketing and will call intern with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2005-06.

A native of Vero Beach, Fla., Freshley earned his bachelor"s degree in sports management at Flagler College in 2008 and is currently working towards his master"s degree in business management at JU.
