MACON, Ga. – After two and a half years as the head women’s golf coach, Sally
Hammel has resigned effective Dec. 31, 2006, for personal reasons. She is marrying
Philip Krystyn on Feb. 3, 2007, and plans to move to Destin, Fla.
Hammel played four years at Mercer, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in
marketing and management in 2000. Following her playing career at Mercer, she
served two years as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s programs at
East Carolina. During her time at East Carolina, Hammel helped launch the women’s
team that advanced to an NCAA Regional in its third year of existence. She also
earned a master’s degree in business administration in 2002.
