MACON, Ga. – Athletics Director Bobby Pope announced the hiring of Gary Guyer
as the interim women’s golf coach Wednesday with Guyer taking the reins of the
program officially on Jan. 11.
Guyer has served as staff director of Georgia Golf Ministry, which is a branch
of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, since 1988. With the Georgia Golf Ministry
Guyer oversees a statewide program that fosters a unified golf ministry. He
also founded the American Junior Golf Federation in 2003 and serves as the executive
director. The AJGF works to educate, equip and inspire America’s high school
golf coaches.
