MACON, Ga. – Mercer softball coach Tony Foti has announced the addition of Crystal Herman to his coaching staff.
Herman, a 2006 graduate of Robert Morris University, will be involved with all aspects of the softball program, with emphasis on coaching the outfielders and assisting with hitting. She will also act as the recruiting coordinator for the program.
“I’m excited to have Crystal here,” said Foti. “She has experience playing at a junior college as well as the Division I level. Crystal brings a winning background to our program, having led her team to the NCAA Regionals in 2005.”
Herman, a two year starter in the outfield, led the Colonials to consecutive Northeast Conference championships and the school’s first-ever regional appearance.
Before attending RMU, Herman attended Lake City Community College in Fla., where she was a first-team all conference and second-team all state NJCAA selection.
Herman, a native of Richmond, British Columbia, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
“Crystal also competed in the classroom, graduating with honors,” said Foti. “Not only will she be able to assist the athletes on the field, but also in the classroom.”
Herman will be working towards a master’s of public health while at Mercer.
