Mercer selects Dustin Norman as Men's Soccer Assistant Coach

MACON, Ga. – Head men’s soccer coach Tom Melville has added Dustin Norman as a graduate assistant coach to his staff. Norman, a native of Columbia, Tenn., spent last season as an assistant coach at Middle Georgia College.
Norman has also spent time as an assistant at his alma mater, Maryville College, as well as coaching the Maryville High School varsity squad and the Columbia Hurricanes Club Team. In 2005, Norman gained head coaching experience with the Maryville High School junior varsity squad.
Norman was a four-year starter at Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn. He was named the team captain and was twice named Offensive MVP at Maryville. During his career, Norman also garnered two Great South Atlantic Conference team selections (2003 and 2004), an All-South Academic team nomination (2004), a spot on the Great South Atlantic Conference All-Freshman team (2001), and was named to the academic all-conference team three times (2002-04).
At Columbia Central High School, Norman was named to the Tennessee All-State team and District Player of the Year in 2001
Norman earned a NSCAA national coaching license in 2006 and a NSCAA advanced regional coaching license in 2005. He graduated from Maryville College in May 2005 with a bachelor’s in business with an emphasis in organizational management, and also earned minors in accounting and sociology. Norman will be working towards a master’s in business administration while at Mercer.
