Sturek is the A-Sun's Senior Associate Commissioner for Compliance and Legal Affairs and began working for the Atlantic Sun in December of 1990.

He administers all aspects of the A-Sun compliance program. He earned his undergraduate degree at Iowa State and was a member of Iowa State's famed "Dirty Thirty" football squad where former A-Sun Commissioner Lou McCullough was his position coach.

Sturek earned his law degree from Creighton and practiced law for twenty years, spending seven years as a major felony prosecutor. He earned an M. Ed. from Georgia in 1990.
