SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Whitney Kiihnl and Alaina Jacobson both pitched complete games as the Lady Bisons swept an Atlantic Sun doubleheader from USC Upstate Sunday afternoon at Cyrill Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C.

Both teams earned a share of the 2008 Atlantic Sun regular season championship. The doubleheader was designated as the "Series of the Week" by the A-Sun.

Kiihnl scattered three hits while striking out eight and walking one in a 9-1 win in game one. Jacobson gave up four hits, struck out three and walked one in a 3-0 decision in the nightcap.

It was the seventh straight victory for the Lady Bisons who also swept ETSU Friday in the first two A-Sun road doubleheaders of the season. They have won eight of their last nine games.

It was also the 15th time this season the Lady Bisons have shut down an opponent.

The Lady Bisons raised their record to 29-8, 8-2 in the A-Sun. USC Upstate dropped to 24-12, 7-7 in the conference.
