MACON, Ga. – USC Upstate starting pitcher Scott DeCecco cooled down the red-hot Stetson Hatters to win his first Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week honor. Three weeks after winning a Pitcher of the Week award, ETSU’s Bo Reeder hit three home runs against FGCU to win his first Player of the Week award of 2011, the conference announced on Monday.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Scott DeCecco, USC Upstate (SP – So. – Cape May Courthouse, N.J. – Undeclared)
• First A-Sun Pitcher of the Week award
• Became second A-Sun Pitcher to earn a victory over nationally-ranked Stetson
• Pitched seven innings scattering six hits (all singles) and three walks while fanning four
• Tossed 117 pitches and got out of bases loaded jams in the fifth and sixth innings
• USC Upstate defeated a nationally-ranked opponent for the first time since moving to D-I
• Improved to 3-2 and marked the second-straight start of pitching at least seven innings

OTHER NOMINEES:
• Zac Griffith (SP, Kennesaw State) – Started and beat Savannah State and Southern Illinois
• Matt Hamann (SP/RP, Belmont) – Recorded an ERA of 1.29 in 7.0 IP; beat JU on Sunday
• John Long (SP, ETSU) – In 7.2 IP, defeated FGCU and struck out a season-high eight
• Russell Moses (RP, Mercer) – In 5.1 IP of relief, shut out No. 6 Georgia Tech to earn win
• Matt Tomshaw (SP, Jacksonville) – Hurled eight shutout innings in winning at Belmont

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Bo Reeder, ETSU (3B – Sr. – Atlantic Beach, Fla. – Transportation and Logistics)
• First A-Sun Player of the Week award this season; Second Award this season; Fourth career weekly award
• Hit .429 with two doubles, three home runs and seven RBI
• The Bucs won their first regular-season game and their first series against the Eagles
• Became the second fastest Buccaneer to reach the 200-hit plateau
• In the first game hit a three-run home run that sparked a 10-run eighth inning
• Slugged 1.214 on the weekend

OTHER NOMINEES:
• Jimmy Brenneman (OF, Campbell) – Hit .438 on the week that included a 4-1 win vs Duke
• Greg Brody (2B, Belmont) – Batted .333 with six RBI during Belmont's 2-2 week
• Ronnie Freeman (C, Kennesaw State) – Led the Owls to a 3-1 week by hitting .588
• D.J. Johnson (2B, Mercer) – Hit .563 as Bears went 4-0, plus a win at No. 6 Georgia Tech
• Austin Liput (INF, USC Upstate) – Hit .500, scored six runs and drove in three
• Adam Brett Walker – (1B, Jacksonville) – Hit .389 with two home runs and seven RBI
