CLEMSON, S.C. - Comebacks were the name of the game in the decathlon as Campbell's Logan Brelsford and Gardner-Webb's Evan Brusich came back from the middle of the pack to share the title at the A-Sun Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship from Clemson's Rock Norman Track.
Brelsford led Brusich by 219 points entering the final event, the 1,500-meter run but Brusich completed the event second in a time of 4:33.1 while Brelsford placed sixth at 5:09.8 resulting in precisely the 219-point margin needed to create the tie. Brusich rallied from fifth place after Friday while Brelsford moved up from third position. Brelsford's teammate, Kyle Lingafelt also made a major move up the standings on day two, moving up from eighth to finish in third place.
The men's championship concludes on Saturday with the high jump, the shot put, the steeplechase, the 400-meter relay, the 1,500-meter run, the triple jump, the discus throw, the 110-meter hurdles, the 400-meter dash, the 100-meter dash, the 800-meter run, the 400-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash, the 5,000-meter run and wrapping up with the 1,600-meter relay.
