MACON, Ga. - Joshua McNair started the 2008 outdoor track and field season with a bang. At the Clemson Relays, Kennesaw State's first outdoor action of the spring, McNair broke school records in the shot put, hammer throw and discus. He placed in the top five in each event, earning the first Atlantic Sun Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honor of 2008, the conference announced Wednesday.

The junior from Hinesville, Ga. recorded a regional qualifying throw of 169-10.0 (51.77m) in the discus, which garnered him a gold medal in the event. McNair also found success in the shot put and the hammer throw. The information security major placed second in the shot put with a throw of 51-11.00 (15.82m) and fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 169-11.00 (51.79m). The Owls, who are coming off of an A-Sun title in indoor track and field, broke a total of eight school records at the Clemson relays, as McNair provided three on his own.

The Atlantic Sun Conference is a 12-member league committed to Building Winners for Life, with a focus on academic and athletic integrity and a balance between the two for the student-athlete, and maintaining a high level of sportsmanship. Jerel Langley, GWU (Sr. - Thrower - Ball Ground, Ga. - Sports Management) - Took third at the 49er Classic with a regional qualifying mark of 203-04.00 (61.98m) in the javelin throw.
