Levi Nets First Career Player of the Week Award

MACON, Ga. - UNF junior Federico Levi led the Ospreys to a pair of wins to open the 2009 season last weekend. A victory over a nationally-ranked opponent highlighted the weekend, and on Wednesday he claimed the first Player of the Week honor of his career the conference office announced.
The Buenos Aires native capped UNF's perfect weekend with a straight-set win against a nationally-ranked Georgia State foe at the No. 1 singles position. He defeated No. 69 Nejc Podkrajsek 6-4, 6-3 to give UNF a crucial singles win in the Ospreys' 4-3 victory. Levi captured another straight-set singles win in UNF's opener at Bethune-Cookman, as he rolled to a 6-3, 6-1 win. He also teamed with freshman Marc Misanovic' for an 8-1 doubles win against the Wildcats.

Daniel Hangstefer, Lipscomb (Chattanooga, Tenn. – Jr. – Communications) – Hangstefer played in the No. 1 doubles team. He and Mario Hernandez defeated Stevon Walker & Johnny Singleton of Alabama A&M 8-0. Hangstefer also played in the #1 singles spot where he defeated Stevon Walker 6-0, 6-1.
