MACON, Ga. - Davy Sum, the 2008 Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Year, opened the spring season with a pair of singles wins at the VCU 4x1 Invitational last weekend, and helped the Camels split their opening weekend. The sophomore's performance earned him his third career Player of the Week award, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

Sum's straight sets victory (6-2, 6-4) at the number one position against James Madison's Jared Robinson helped the Camels to a 3-2 win versus the Dukes. The Strasbourg, France native provided another straight sets win (6-3, 6-4) against Nate Nelms of Navy, but the Camels fell 3-2 to the Midshipmen.
