MACON, Ga. - Stetson junior Filip Kricka picked up his second dual-match singles win in as many outings in the Hatters’ victory against UCF earlier this week. His straight set victory clinched Stetson's second straight win to open the spring season, and its 10th consecutive regular season triumph dating back to 2007. On Friday, the conference office awarded Kricka his second career Player of the Week honor.
The Croatia native earned the clinching point in Stetson's 6-1 win at rival UCF on Wednesday, the third straight for the Hatters over the Knights. Kricka defeated UCF's Claudio Romano in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 and also teamed with Hicham Laalej to win at No. 3 doubles by an 8-4 score over Nicolas Overkemping and Danny Colon. The health science is 2-0 overall this season in both singles and doubles.
