Johnson City,
Tenn. - The No. 1 seed ETSU Bucs beat the No. 2 Stetson Hatters 4-0 to win the
2007 General Shale Brick Men's Tennis Championship. The Bucs earn the Atlantic
Sun automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
ETSU won the doubles point by
taking the No. 1 and No. 3 matchup. Alex Ahlgren and Travis Sandlant defeated
Marcus Echtler and Flip Kricka, 8-6. Daniel Isaza and Lisandro Picardo collected
an 8-3 victory over Hicham Laalej and Peter Dzuba.
Tournament MVP, ETSU's
Enrique Olivares, knocked off Marcus Echtler 6-2, 6-3. Sebastian Serrano continued
his winning ways in the championship beating Serguei Boulanov 6-2, 6-4. Alex Ahlgren
finished off the Hatters with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Danai Stamp.
The Bucs
now await their NCAA Tournament placement, which will be announced on May 1.ETSU
earns the automatic bid for the first time as a member of the Atlantic Sun.
