Stetson Duo Sweep Up A-Sun Weekly Tennis Awards

MACON, Ga. – Stetson’s pair of Didrik Berg and Unnati Purushotham earned the Atlantic Sun Tennis Players of the Week awards, announced Wednesday by the league office, after both recorded perfect records for the Hatters. Berg assisted the Hatters to four victories in Pennsylvania, while Purushotham and the women's team claimed two home victories.
 
MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Didrik Berg, Stetson (So. – Oslo, Norway)
• First Career A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Totaled seven wins on the week; 3-0 in singles play and 4-0 in doubles
• Playing at No. 4 and 5 spot, earned wins against Lehigh, Georgetown, Lafayette all in straight sets
• With Cesare Gallo led Hatters with four doubles victories to push Stetson’s record to 5-0

WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Unnati Purushotham, Stetson (Sr. – Hyderabad, India – Business Administration)
• Third Career A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Playing at No. 2 Singles and No. 1 Doubles, claimed four victories on the week to lead Hatters
• Topped FAMU’s Latreece Olagbegi (6-2, 6-3) and Florida Atlantic’s Natasha Basma (6-0, 6-2)
• Alongside Carolina de los Santos lost only three games in wins in two Stetson dual victories
