Stetson’s Munz Earns A-Sun Player of the Week Honors

MACON, Ga. - Kevin Munz scored twice in each of Stetson’s weekend matches leading the Hatters to the undefeated weekend while FGCU’s Matt Smith allowed only one goal in two matches as the Eagles posted a prefect record on the weekend.      

Munz, a sophomore forward, scored two goals in consecutive games to lead the Hatters to a pair of A-Sun wins. The native of Jupiter, Fla. scored early in the first half and netted the game-winning goal early in the second half as the Hatters defeated Belmont 2-0. Munz also found the net twice in Stetson decisive 5-1 victory against Lipscomb on Friday. The International Business major moved up to tied for third in conference in goals scored with five on the season. 

Smith, a junior goalkeeper, anchored the FGCU defense and led the Eagles to an undefeated mark in two matches last week. In the Eagles 3-0 win over UNF, the native of Cape Canaveral, Fla. picked up one saves in 90 minutes to secure his second shutout of the season. In FGCU's 2-1 win over Lipscomb, the biology major, recorded three saves in 90 minutes. On the season, Smith holds 1.23 goals-against average which ranked third in the A-Sun.

Other Top Performers
Vince Petrasso, Campbell (Sr. - M - Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada - Computer Information Systems) -- Petrasso had three assists (including the game-winner) in CU's 4-1 win over USC Upstate, then added two goals in a 4-3 victory over ETSU to catapult the Camels into first place in the A-Sun standings. His three of assists lifted him into first place in the conference with seven on the year, and his two strikes against ETSU marked his first multi-goal performance of the season (and his first two-goal game since Oct. 9, 2008 vs. UNF).

Robert Hodge, Stetson (Sr. - D - Devon, England - Sport Management) -- After sitting out Stetson's only loss of the season with an injury last week, Hodge returned to the lineup to lead the Stetson backline in a pair of wins. He played all 180 minutes on the weekend. The Hatters allowed just one goal per game and one was a penalty shot.

Cristian Raudales, FGCU (So. - M - Bradenton, Fla. - Civil Engineering) -- Raudales scored the game-winning goal and assisted another against Belmont. Raudales also netted the game-tying goal in the 88th minute against Lipscomb as the Eagles picked up two league wins on the weekend.

Steven Lowenthal, UNF (Sr. - M - Guatemala City, Guatemala - Business) -- Lowenthal scored the match-winning goal on the road at Jacksonville to give UNF a come from behind victory in the SunTrust River City Rumble. He also scored the go-ahead goal on a cross from fellow senior Shareef Rajkumar with just under seven minutes remaining in the match. The goal capped a two-goal second half for the Ospreys that propelled them to a 2-1 victory over the defending A-Sun Champions.
